- Other Flats Species
WCO has spent a lot of time on the flats fishing for Bonefish. From the Seychelles to the Bahamas and a bunch of places in between. The Rio Bonefish Leader has been the leaders of choice for us for many years for a couple of reasons. Whether it is the corral, leader eating flats of Belize or mangroves in the Bahamas the Rio Bonefish leader has been by far the most abrasion resistant leader we have used. The second reason is that we like the color and it presents a weighted fly really well. We are using more and more weighted flies especially for tailing fish, even while adding a couple of feet of fluorocarbon. Outside of building your own maybe there isn't another leader we would recommend. The 12 foot length is a necessity for spooky fish, you should always have one or two handy.
